[f. Gr. κατά down + dicrotism.]
‘The occurrence of dicrotism in the downward stroke of a sphygmographic tracing’ (Syd. Soc. Lex. 1887).
Commonly expressed by dicrotism without prefix (see dicrotic a.), the opposite being anacrotism.
